I could use some assistance in the settings and adjustments on the carb. Looking at the tractor from the "driver's side", It has two t-handled adjustment screws on top, one on the outside and one on the inside on the top. It also has another screw that is on the outside of the top that is even with the top, inset (by the outside t-handled screw). Are these all of the adjustment screws and what are the initial settings? How do I fine tune the adjustment? Any help would be greatly appreciated. My arms are getting tired of hand cranking my tractor!!!

Thanks,

James

Jlashbrook, start with 2 turns out from seated on the idle screw [outer screw], & 1 turn out from seated on the load screw [closest to the center of the tractor & fan shaft].

~For starting [only] you might want to try 2-1/2 to 3 turns out from seated on the idle screw then turn back to 2 turns out after started. ~Once the tractor is warmed up, adjust the idle screw for best idle & set the load screw for good power under load with no black smoke & no misfiring.

Sitting on seat, left side of tractor, screw closest to you is idle, other side is high speed. With tractor running and warmed up, idling. turn idle screw in slowly and wait. if idle starts to spit and sputter turn the other way, until it runs the best. High speed screw, throttle up and adjust the same way. This may not help on the startng hard problem. IS mag putting out good spark, good plugs, good fuel. And timing has to be set correctly. Had to advance my on my 44 A. Started alot easier after that. Also carb needs to be in good shape. Hope this helps some.
