I've heard about this and saw it last year at the Expo in Michigan. Does anyone have an idea on how they do this? Do they put it up on bottle jacks, lock the clutch in and then let it down on the bottles? I'd think you would really want to loosen the clutch up, just enough to get the wheels turning.

Gene Tencza's website has a segment about a fellow who did this to his "H"...

There was an A on Coke bottles at the 2002 Springfield, Ohio Expo. Engine was running, and the wheels were turning. See the attached picture-it was neat!

I don't know how they got it on there. Makes you wonder!

Notice that it is roped off. You might not be able to see it, but they also had a rope on the clutch lever staked to the ground...if it fell off the bottles, the rope would pull the clutch, and the tractor would stop. Hopefully...

It is my understanding that John Deere was the only manufacturer whose tractors would work with this demonstration. Other manufacturers tried and were unable to get their tractors to stay on coke bottles, when running.

I have seen it in person with a Spoker D. Don't remember exactly where, but it was impressive!

Their was a gentleman at Portland this year that had a JD running on Coke bottles, I too have heard of it and saw pictures, but I had never seen it in person until 3 weeks ago. It was very impressive.

You were seeing a bit of history, there. John Deere used to use this very demonstration to show Mr. Farmer that, although 2 cyl, John Deere tractors were smooth enough to be balanced on Coke bottles. I believe this was circa late thirties
