We've got a 53 40T and it's color scheme is as follows.....

Dash: Semi-gloss black (John Deere calls it blitz black)
Seat frame: Semi-gloss black
Seat cushions: Black
Gas cap: Red
Oil cap: Green
Radiator cap: Green

Just to be clear, the semi-gloss black and Blitz Black are two different paints. The Blitz is a flatter black. The semi-gloss is the preferred paint. Hope this helps. Mike

The cap for the starting tank on an all fuel tractor were the only ones painted red, all others were cadium plated. Matt B

Hey Mark I think I can help you on this one.
All 40 dashes were semi-gloss black, seat frames were black, gas, oil and radiator cap were cadmium plated ( looks alittle like chrome ) all seat cushions were also black. I have a 1953 40T that I have been working on for 5yrs. and have researched most of these areas. Any other questions let me know.
Matt B.
