I am mainly an International Harvester person but I was thinking about buying a John Deere to add to my collection. I looked at a 1952 John Deere B that is in fairly good condition. The tires aren't bad but they have a few cracks by the tread. The paint is ok but someone tried to paint it like a 520. It seemed to run good. The tractor hasn't really been worked very hard in the last 15 years. I noticed some oil/grease around the powertrol outlets. The owner wants $1400 and he won't come off that price. Is it worth that dollar amount and is there something that I should be looking at more closely? Does the "B" have any major weaknesses?

The only weakness my '47 had was running out of traction before it ran out of power! They're a lot of fun. Good luck.

EG I don't think $1400 is out of line. The late styled B had no weakness I know of. Drove one many years and loved it. It will compare to the Super H. CLW
