If you don't find the springs, let me know. I have a good friend that has a repair shop, and he probably has the springs laying all over the place. JIM

Are there any starter/alternator repair shops in your area? Your starter is probably a Delco, and likely uses the same parts as an old

Chevrolet car starter. I'm serious on this. I've seen Chevrolet distributor parts that are the same as John Deere distributor parts. For that matter, some Chevrolet distributor parts are the same as those used on an Oliver tractor. Why? Because Chevrolet, Deere, or Oliver, the distributors were made by Delco. Same should apply to starters.

If you have a good auto parts store in your area, they can probably come up with the springs you need. Go to an old established shop, and look for an older guy who knows his parts. Don't waste time going to some chain parts house, where some kid will tell you that his parts book doesn't list tractors.

Springs from an old junk Delco starter will probably work, if you want to look through some old junkyard starters.

Good Luck.
