I have a 1937 John Deer "A" in working condition except the tires need to be pumped up. My uncle wants to buy it. I told him I wanted $2000 and he said it's too much $$. Can anyone tell me if $2,000 is out of line? As a friend of mine said, "if we pumped up the tires, we could plow with it this afternoon." and yes, all the sheet metal, or whatever you call it, is there.

I just seen one at an auction sell the other day for $2,000 that did not run. The sheet metal was all their but was rusted so bad you did not see any green on the tractor. The front tires were flat also. They also had at the same auction a totaly restored John Deere 60 sell for only $2,900.00.

I bought my 37 A out of the trees for $500. After I got it fixed up and running good (valves, rings, etc.), I turned down $2800. Tell your uncle that you are in the ballpark.

what kind of wheels are on it? if they are round spoke, that is cheap. even if they are not, it is still cheap. if you want to sell it, just put a Photo ad on this page and see how long it lasts.

Tell your uncle to buy one somewhere else if he can find a cheaper one. Decent ones seem to be going for more than $2000.00, check the classified ads and see what others are going for.
