I am looking at buying a JD 300B front-end loader, but I have a few questions. The steering is a little loose, 1/3 of around while the egine is running does not move the wheels. The pivot connecting the steering to the chassis has a lot of play. How big of a problem is this?
The fan seems to be a little loose. It can be wiggle easily by hand. Is this a problem?
The asking price is $6500, is this a fair price?

your bellcrank bearings or bushings are probably worn out..a bellcrank cost about 250 plus the bearings...yes your water pump bearings are gone and you can buy a repair kit but you must have press to install...the bellcrank has rod running thur it that i press out and have them made ..the last one had made out of hyd cyl rod, hope the chrome lasts longer...have nice day may god bless

Where is the steering loose? Under the fuel tank or where the drag link connects to the steering arm under the steering wheel area in the center? The fan wiggle is a loose water pump bearing ...The pump can be rebuilt ... The price has a lot of variables involved...condition...PTO yes or no....3 point hitch yes or no ...
