Hello John, It seems like most of the guys don't like the 2010's because the first two years that they made them, Deere had many design faults built in. The biggest faults being the hydraulics and the diesel engine. The last couple of years they made them, the faults were fixed but it was too late for the reputation to be saved. My advice to you is if you want to keep the tractor and use it, get a factory service manual. The I and T manuals are good for many things but cannot compare to the factory service manual. The tractors made after serial number 42000 had most of the bugs worked out of 'em. Early models were a problem. I like my 2010. It is a 1965 model and has good power and is easy to handle. You should be able to tell if the governor is working by trying to move the linkage with your hand while idleing; it should resist your pulling on it. You may just need to lubricate or adjust the linkage.
