I was running the 1520 pushing snow with the front end loader, applied the brakes shifted from reverse to 1st gear and the tractor would not move. Tried all foward and reverse gears. I can feel the gears moving when I try to shift. If I step on the differential lock the left wheel will turn and move the tractor. When the differential lock is dissengaged the tractor will not move. Do I have broken gears or what? No unusual noise at the time. Could the brakes be frozen?(29 degrees and snowing) I uncouple the brake pedals to help steer.
Thanks in advance for any help.

Luke, Sounds like the pinion shaft between the differential and your right hand final drive has broken. To access this the right hand axle assembly will have to be removed from the tractor. The only other possibility would be the axle shaft but not likely. Once apart you will know the rest of the story. Good Luck, Dave W.

Sounds to me like a broken axle shaft or bad splines. Maybe something in the differential.
