Am restoring a 1938 JD D. Removed pistons Part # is D2822R . Are these standard or oversize. Can't make out what carb # should be. Also are O/H gaskets, piston rings, still available? If so from where.

Frank if you have trouble getting parts at your dealer call Mike at 1-800-848-3666,Greeley, Colo. I have given his name to a few and if it's available he'll get it for you.
As Donny B said most parts can be found at the JD dealers, just bought rings,.045 @90.00, head gasket was 24.00 etc.
Be glad to help any way we can here.
PS You have one of my favorite D's the other is a 37, just a dumb spell and bought a 35.
Best of luck with your D

Frank, The pistons are "standard" according to my D parts manual. The carb should be a DLTX-3, -6, or -16. Some rings were still available from Deere last year but they had limited stock. Overhaul gasket sets are availible.
