I'm looking for a wiring diagram(photocopy)to help find a couple of shorts. Lost the lights last summer and this fall I started blowing the fuse when it was cold. Started fine when warm. Now when i turn the ignition switch I blow the fuse each time. I can bypass the switch to the fuel pump and the starter and it starts. Checked the wires from the ignition switch and have three dead shorts. Bought an IDE? manual but no electrical diagram. Tractor is about a 1972 diesel.

I'd look at wiring harness under dash there is large hyd line, have found alot of times this is where the problem is line rubs wire bare and shorts it out, just a idea. I've had it happen on half a dozen late model 4020's hope it helps

Mike:I will check into that area this weekend. If that is the problem area would you advise cutting back the shielding around the wires, splice the wires there and rewrap the bundle or remove a larger length of the damaged wires and splice in a foot or so of new wire and get the splice connectors away from that area, then wrap the harness with tape. Thanks for your response.
