Is there any websites with info on the 1010 and 1020 tractors. I am interested in researching them and the different models. I may be interesed in purchasing one soon.

The gas 1010 was entirely acceptable. The diesel 1010 had some problems. The 1020,1120,1130 etc are fine wee tractors for smaller jobs.

The primary answer you should expect here is to avoid the 1010. Not many people have a good opinion of that tractor. Personally I think the choice has to do with what you plan to do with the tractor. I have a 1010 and my brother-in-law has a 1020. The 1020 is bigger than I need or want. The 1010 fits my needs. The things that I like least about it are things you might want to consider when looking to buy. Mine has no power steering. Might be nice to have that. I really don't like the brake locks. They are a single handle loop down low in front of the axle on each side and they don't hold particularly well. Try getting on and off both tractors a few times. I do that a lot with mine and find that it is a little tight. My advice remains to consider the use of the tractor. Mine is more hobby use around my 15 acre zebra pasture. It drags logs, pulls stumps, drills post holes and runs a five foot rotary mower just fine. If you plan to work it harder than that you might want the 1020.

Jeff,

If you have a choice between the two, go with the 1020. Most 1010's are not the happiest tractors in the world. That's not just my opinion, you can search this forum and find a lot of good things said about 1020's and some not so good things said about 1010's.

BTW, I've had a 1020 gas for about 25 years (great little tractor - she's part of the family now). There's no site I know of that gives a lot of detail on them, but if you have any let me know.

Steve
