My 2010 JD, 1965 model has a locked up rear right wheel. It ran ok when I put it in the shed about a month ago. Today that wheel won't move. I've pulled and pushed it backwards, the wheel won't buge. I've had past problems with the brakes freezing so I took the right brake off-- didn't make any difference. The battery was down and that's the reason I was pulling it. The other wheel rolls just fine. I tried neutral and different gears-- no good. Any thoughts from this board as to what might be happening? Thanks.

Sounds like it's time to warm it all up and replace all the fluids. If there's enough water in the case to lock up the axle, then it's time for a drain and fresh lube.

You're right there! I haven't changed rear end oil in the 15 years that I've owned the tractor!

You just might be right! I pushed it into my heated shop and after I got it started about an hour later I drove it right out! Works fine now! Wonders never cease!

Richard, now that you got it loose, keep it in and thaw the ice all the way. Then you can crackthe drain plug,CRACK I said, and drain the water from under the oil. Thawin'a tractor out can take some time.....Mguy
