Thanks for all the prayers help and support below guys. That really helps. (Tough Day post of Feb 1 below) We are gettign ready to leave to see Brandon off which I am dreading. I hope to see him safely returned in a year or less and will cling to a bible verse which goes something like "Though weeping may endure throughout the night, joy cometh in the morning" PS to poor Brian, you were correct, my facts werent EXACTLY right lol, I rounded the numbers off for simplicity and did a search for John T (which I have used here over 4 years) and it reported 73,137 hits. (I apologize, I said it gave 70,000) Anyway, we all have free speech and my son and our brave troops are ready to defend it for us all INCLUDING you, so I suggest if you dont like the board or if my or any posts offend you, you arent being forced to read them or participate. I personally do choose to pray for and support the troops and the shuttle families and help all the kind wondeful people who have helped me both here and throughout my life. God Bless and thanks again. Ol John T Nordhoff in Indiana

John T, I'd have to agree with Brian, You are a self promoting BLOW HARD. I remember several years ago the first post of yours that I read was your 'Grand Return' to Rummy's and how you solictited folks to sing your praises in warm welcomes back to the fold. People keep telling us that you have helped so many folks here but 80% of the time your responses follow Clooney's and you are just re inforcing what he just said. And as far a your son is defending my right to free speech, good for him, that's his job, the same as it was my Dad's fifty years ago, mine thirty years ago, and my nephew who was just discharged from the U.S. Marines a year ago. My only regret is that I didn't see this post sooner.

I WILL WHOLE HEARTLY LEND MY SUPPORT! I LOVE AND ENJOY TRACTORPULLING 2 CYLINDER JOHN DEERE TRACTORS, BUT I ALSO HAVE MY PRIORITIES STRAIGHT! OUR MAKER THE LORD JESUS CHRIST COMES FIRST, THEN OUR FAMILIES, THEN OUR COUNTRY WHICH INCLUDES ITS MILITARY DEFENSE WHETHER YOU AGREE WITH IT OR NOT, AND IF YOU DON'T YOU'LL STILL GET TO ENJOY ALL IT'S LUXURIES, EVEN THOUGH YOU DON'T HAVE THE BACKBONE TO STAND UP FOR THEM! THEN OUR HOBBIES EVEN THOUGH THEY ARE VERY MINOR IN IMPORTANCE AFTER THE RECENT EVENTS IN OUR COUNTRY! GOD BLESS AMERICA!, AND THOSE WHO SERVE IN OUR ARM SERVICES, AND THOSE WHO LOST THEIR LIVES ON THE SPACE SHUTTLE. AND THOSE WHO FEAR GOD, AND GOD HELP THOSE WHO DON'T FEAR THE LIVING GOD! SORRY IF THIS POST OFFENDS.

I just "discovered" this very long and convoluted post and I have to say that it really comes from nowhere and goes to nowhere. Even though I am a relative newcomer to this forum, I do appreciate the "MANY" posts by JT Nordoff. I don't believe in "keeping track" of stuff like numbers of posts because it's well, meaningless. HOWEVER, in the loose leaf binder of "tips and tricks" that I have gradually accumulated from the posts on this forum; tips and tricks that will be a valuable resource as we work on our recently-acquired '52 JD "A"; quite a few of the tips DID come from JT Nordoff. I don't have any tips or tricks listed that were gleaned from from Brian's posts.....yet; but who knows, maybe later on I might pick up something valuable. So at least for now, it appears that JTN is who he says he is. I'm siding with JTN on this one; my priorities....as it says right on the face of our checks.....are God, Country, Home; and I don't really see anything wrong with an expression of patriotism whether it appears to be linked to a space program mishap or not. If the statistics presented aren't exactly right, well that's show biz! A darn good rule to remember is: "Don't believe any statistics unless you've made them up yourself."

John T,

Hope that farewell today was as good as could be hoped. From experience the best thing you can do now is write early and often. I still treasure the steel covered, chest pocket Bible my Dad gave me. Same one his parents had given him in '42. It's a clunky thing to actually carry around -- but things from home that show somebody cares do a whole lot of good.

Keep the faith, I'm sure he'll make you proud.

Steve

Mr. T
You are a vain chest beater aren't you. Only a jerk would think he could post over 50 replies a day for 4 years. Now that you have showed us you aren't real smart why don't you run a search on john deere or john z for that matter and tell us how many times john deere or anything with john in it is used in a post. I might have been born at night but it wasn't last night. I feel sorry for your son and can only hope he isn't bragger like you. I will pray for him as well as all our other service men and women and wish them all a speedy return.

Brian, I don't know who's right about the exact number of posts and I don't care. John T has contributed a great deal to this site and I enjoy reading his posts. One of the many things that have changed in this country in the last couple of decades is that young people no longer respect the older generations. We should listen to and respect the guys that grew up on these tractors-they have a lot of valuable experience to share. I have found that MOST people having an interest in preserving these old tractors are honest, respectful, and willing to help others. Unfortunately it only takes one bad apple...

John T's son will go off and defend YOUR freedom, just as I did for 12 years of military service, even though you may not deserve or appreciate it. This site is intended to be a place where you can help other people in a positive way. If all you can do is cause trouble and dissention, I wish you would find somewhere else to do it.

Mark-
Johns son will go off to defend my freedom just like I went off when I was young to defend his fathers and his future right to grow up in a free country. Don't preach to me about defending the freedom of America I lost many good friends in the service defending this country. I don't give a hoot about how many posts old john there has. I do give a hoot about him using the shuttle disaster and his sons military duty to perpetuate his bragging. I don't see how he adds that much to this site mostly all he does is recap whats already there. He doesn't even do most of his own work. By the sound of his earlier posts he has someone else do most of his mechanical work.

Brian: I have to agree with you. I used John Deere in the search box and came up with the same number of replies. I kind of thought 79,000 was high even for a guy that always has to have the last post at the top even if it means repeating what is already there.

You know Brian, there is an old saying that goes like this, if you can't say something nice about a person, don't say nothing at all.We would ALL be better off praying for each other than tearing others down.

Brian,
Its people like you who give a bad light to anything that is good and helpfull. My thoughts are you are no better than the Dillon deal we had to endure some time back. got a bit of advice for ya, go to another web site and post there. This is a super web site and lots of great help and information are offered and we have no room for your comments. Have a great day, somewhere else!

Mr. Gary Thanks for the kind thoughts. I will pry for you too. I guess I must have struck a nerve on this one. With just a little help form all you fine people that can't see the forest for the trees we should be able to keep this on the home page hot list for a long time. Remember I didn't flame anyone, criticize their realities or call them names. All I did was point out the truth. Backed with a good comparison in the truth a bragger soon stands out as a liar.

All your doing is stirring up trouble! Whats the point? Your arguement makes no sense! Just leave people alone, this is a forum of help and advice, all is not going to be helpfull or accurate at times. Hey we are all human and we all make mistakes from time to time. Just chill out man and enjoy the messages and try to learn something.

The number of hits showed has nothing to do with how many times John T has posted, rather its the number of folks how have read what he has posted, so its very likely his numbers are right on. Check it today and again tomorrow to see how much it changes in that time.

Mr. DP
So you are saying the exact same number of people have read john L or john z or john deere. The search option doesn't show number of hits it shows the number of posts with the word john in it. You see I don't have a problem with him bragging or copying other peoples posts then using his name on them. But I do have a problem with him using a national tragedy or his son in the service as a lead in to perpetuate his bragging.

Just going back a few pages of posts, I see Ol' John with 25+ posts (all helpful) and Brian with 6 posts (all flames).
What a sorry state of affairs.
As me Pappy used to say "It aint braggin if it's true!"

Brain, I'm not much for short statements. John T stands behind his work and remember "to be human is to error". After all you errored in leaving your Email address off your messages so your would not get the Wood Shed back talk.

John T I hope you keep helping out others on this site, I for one enjoy reading yur answers to others ?'s Everybody has a right to their opinions but we should sometimes just let it go for the good of the site . We have a good thing going here lets don't let our feeling of one another spoil it. The reason of working on and restoring old tractors is for the fun of it, not to see who can hurt someones feelings, I for one enjoy tring to help others on this site out, sometimes I don't have the right answer, but nobodys perfect. When you point your finger , you have 3 fingers pointing back at yourself.
