PLease HELP!! I have acquired a pair of couplers from ebay that I thought were for a Model B but when I went to try them out they are very different from the plugs on the tractor. The plugs on the tractor are longer, opened at the end with an open port up a little ways from the end and are held in place with an adapter nut, the ones I bought are shorter, closed at the end but do have the open port in line and there's no way to hold them in place. My questions then, is there different couplers for b models, does anyone know where I can find the right couplers other than the local John Deere dealer which couldn't help, If I have them made how should they be machined as far as the ends being open or closed, should they be copied like the plugs. Any help will certainly be appreciated! Thanks

Joe, depending on the year, power-trol valve number & what tractor the power-trol valve came off of there are 2 different styles of hose adapters or plugs. The early ones used shear washers & those nuts to hold them in & the later units used a turnable lever on the side that retracted pins that went in grooves on the adapters/plugs.

~As for what type of ends you need? For rock shaft [3-point use] you need open end plugs & for remote cylinder use you need closed end plugs.

~See if you can find a tag with a number on the power-trol valve housing . It will probably be something like PCV-XXXX

Thanks Clooney, I will look for these Numbers and take it from there. Oh and I'm trying to hook up a remote cylinder.
