Hi! has anyone got anywhere with details for a model of the 75? I have some photos in an illustrated history of WW1 of Holts towing British guns in France and the US armoured version marked up Caterpillar! I was thinking of a model at 1 inch to the foot. Anyone like to exchange ideas. There are not any around in Scotland!

Dear sir/madam
I am Barrister .Paul onuh, a solicitor at law. I am the personal

attorney to a national of your country, who used to work with

Shell Development Company in Nigeria. Here in after shall be

referred to as my client. On the 21st of April 2000,

my client, his wife and their only daughter were involved in a

car accident along sagbama express road. All occupants of the

vehicle unfortunately lost there lives. Since then I have made

several enquiries to your embassy here to locate any of my

clients extended relatives, this has also proved unsuccessful.

After these several unsuccessful attempts,

I decided to track his last name over the Internet,
to locate any member of his family hence I contacted you. I have

contacted you to assist in repartrating the fund valued at

US$12.5million left behind by my client before it gets

confisicated or declared unserviceable by the Security Finance

Firm where this huge amount were deposited. The said Security

Finance company has issued me a notice to provide the next of

kin or have the account confisicated within the next twenty one

official working days. Since I have been unsuccesfull in locating

the relatives for over 2 years now,

I seek the consent to present you as the next of kin to the deceased since you have the same last names, so that the proceeds of this accountcan be paid to you. Therefore, on receipt of your positive response, we shall then discuss the

sharing ratio and modalities for transfer. I have all necessary

information and legal documents needed to back you up for

claim.

All I require from you is your honest cooperation to enable us

see this transaction through. I guarantee that this will be

executed under legitimate arrangement that will protect you

from any breach of the law. Please get in touch with me through

this mail for more details.

Best regards, Barr.Paul onuh,

N.B, all that needed from you now is your telephone no. fax no.

I am the son of the US ARMY sargent in charge of
taking the Holt tractors from Peoria, IL to Wash, DC. I have a number of photos taken on an old bellows type Kodak - prints are maybe 2" X
3". I believe this convoy was undertaken in 1915
or 1916 to get Congressional Approiations for
the Army tank Corps. The photos show the tank & shop wagons the Holts towed along. I have promised the photos to the Patton museum but would be willing to have them copied - either
as a regular Print or digitially on a disc.

Hello Dick,

I just discovered this discussion today - was scrounging around on the net because I also want to build a Holt tracked tractor - probably a model 75 of around 1917, 18, in about 1/8 scale to suit a working model gasoline engine for which I have bought castings from Coles Power Models in New Hollywood, Ca. Put in the order in September and still awaiting delivery, and hoping...

Have you got any further with your investigations since March? There is also a museum in Stockton, CA: the Haggin Museum, they have a full size model 75 but have not responded yet to my request for info. Their site is>Link
Maybe>Link we can be of assistance to each other in researching original information on Holt/Best/Caterpillar tractors

Go to your public library, they may have the big hardcover Time/Life books on WWI. Several pictures of the crawlers. Also most books on armor and armored vehicles will have a photo of the WWI armored crawlers. Military vehicle collectors assoc. on the web, is also a good place to look. John in Ne.

If you are anywhere within an easy drive of Sacramento, I would recommend a visit to the Heidrick Ag History Museum in Woodland, CA. They have a whole mess of Holt's there. They also have a website, perhaps you could work an arrangement with the curator for some photos.

Thank you, Big Fred -- I'm going to Sacka-Tomatoes next month for training -- I hadn't heard of the Ag Museum but I have some friends in the area who will surely know where to find it and I'll also make sure I have my camera with me. I'll check out the website, too. I've found a few things already but you
can't do too much research (well, you can, I suppose -- probably like editing, it's never completed -- only abandoned.!) Again, my thanks. What great wonderful beasts -- and to think they were born not
far from where I live (San Jose) in Stockton.
