A few years ago my brother measured up our 1947 CAT D2 and made an unbelievably detailed 1/8 inch scale model of it. The blade angles, each track pad was individually made and of course the tracks go around, the fan belt is even made of wood, he also made it with a removable grill cover to see the fine detail on the radiator, it is complete with a hyster winch and cable and is all made from a cherry tree that we cut down and skidded out of the woods with the real tractor. It took about 1500 hours of tedious work but the final result was well worth it. His next project will be his 1946 John Deere A and my 1946 Faramll M connected to one another by a wooden chain. The thing that i find so unique about it is that instead od buying a plan out of a book to make some type of model my brother made his own plans and with far more detail than the store bought types. Just thought i would share with you fella's.

Sounds great! Any way you could post us some photos? I got an uncle that wittles all kind of things. Carved me a tractor about 6" long. Not a lot detail, but I love it!

That is talent! I would never have enough time, brains or patients to do something like that. let me guess, the farmall will be pulling the JD :)
