We are thinking of restoring this John Deere wide front end tractor. It no longer has the grill in the front end and i am having a hard time finding parts and info on the tractor. The casting says model DGT 70 then under that 531 7001 on one side of the body casting. I cannot find any like this front end on ebay to even have an idea of what the tractor looks like with the grill or any thing about it. any help would be appreciated-thanks!!!

Have you tried posting this question on the John Deere Discussion Forum?

There will be a lot more people over there that might be able to help.

From what you said, I can't tell if you know the model and year or not - that would help.

Stan the model no. on this John deere pedal tractor is DGT 70 and the number under this is 531 7001 I do not know the year as is was bought used for my brother about 17 years ago. Thank you for your comments I appreciate it. To describe it further if it would help- it has of course the wide front end, enclosed stearing, with the wide yellow metal seat. There is no shifting lever.

Robin,

I'm sorry, I didn't realize you were talking about a pedal tractor.

The only one I know of with a wide front end from 17 or more years ago is a John Deere LGT, which should appear on the side of the hood along with the John Deere name.

I'll scan and send you a picture of the one I'm talking about.

Stan
