i was looking through an old abandoned farm house and found a sept/oct 1960 furrow magazine it seems the issue is dedicated to the unveiling of the 10 series tractors and its in perfect shape.was wondering the value of the magazine if any.

Not to disagree with fergusonfan, if he's some sort of old literature guru, but if it's in excellent condition, I'm sure you could get much more than that for it from a JD collector, particularly as it deals with the unveiling of the New Generation tractors, which I believe occurred on or around August 30, 1960. The introduction was one of the best-kept corporate secrets of all time, and involved one of the largest civilian air-lifts to that date, with something like 6000 John Deere dealership owners and personnel being flown in for the intro. All that is probably detailed in the article. New Generation Deeres are rapidly entering "collectible" status, and all related material and memorabilia is, as well. I can't give you an accurate value, but I would guess that it is certainly worth more than $3 to $5. Hold onto it, and it will only appreciate in value. You might take it to some swap meets, toy shows or tractor shows and get some opinions from some real experts on it's value. Heck, even without seeing it, I'd give you $50 for it. It may not be worth that to everyone, but it would be to me.

I've got a copy of that issue of The Furrow. I'm not a "Green" man, but I can't agree with the $50 price. It would have to be in damn good shape to be worth $50, even to a JD guy.
