Does any one know if there was ever a 1010 john deere tractor made in 1/16 scale. I have started collecting mini's and to keep the price down I am only getting the tractors and implements, I own in 1/16 scale. All others are 1/64. Here is the trouble, I have been looking for a 1010 jd for about six months now and all I can find is crawlers. I have now gotten a Farmall H so I need one of them in 1/16 scale also, I hope it is easier to find than the 1010. Thanks

Thanks Stan
I guess if I ever run across one of them I will have to get it. I even sent Ertl an email to find out if they ever made one and never could get a reply. The only people to reply to any of my inquiries was you and the Toy guy at Green Magazine. Thanks again

Jeff,

I just read your last post...I think you may have replied to your own original post, so I didn't get notification from YTMag. Sorry to take so long getting back to you.

I really don't think Ertl has ever made any 1010 models, and I would assume that Bill Proft told you the same thing.

Out of curiosity, where are you from? My Vo-Ag teacher in high school was Raymond McBride...this was in central Indiana 50+ years ago.

There have been a few 1/16 1010s made, but they are pretty pricey. Greg Stephan has made two custom 1010s, both of which are around $300 New In Box. Not sure where you're located, but you might try to find some farm toy shows in your area. I suspect that any you might find at a show will be up there in $$$ as well.

How've you been? I keep an eye on about four sites everyday, but I can never think to poke my head in here. Still quiet I see.

Yep, you're right...it is still quiet on this board.

Not much going on in Florida these days. We only have two farm toy shows a year...one in DeLand in January and one in Newberry in February. Florida Flywheelers engine and tractor club has shows in November, January and February, and that's about it for entertainment.

We usually travel every summer for three months or so, but gas prices are keeping us home this year except for a trip to Indiana and Iowa in a couple weeks...got to keep the relatives happy, you know.

Thanks for the shout. I usually check the John Deere, Implement Alley, Tractor Talk and Today's Tractors on the YTMag board as well as this one.

What's going on in your world?

Stan

Work and family have been keeping me pretty busy this summer. I'm just now begining to get cranked back up in the toy shop. I'd about burned out getting ready for our show here in Starkville. I haven't had it in me since then.

You ever checked this site out:

I'm a little familiar with Toy Tractor Times. I had a monthly article in there from early '91 through '94, I think. Title was "Indiana Revisited". Mostly reminiscences about growing up on the farm in the '40s and '50s.

Frankly, I lost interest when it went to an online publication. Jason is a good guy, though, and I hope he does well with it.

I don't guess I ever saw a hard copy of the magazine. I posted on the old ToyTalk, back when it was on the AgTalk site, then signed up with the Times when Jay put it on line. As I understand it, it's no longer available in print - right? If so, I hate that for the ones who aren't on-line.

Shoot! I don't even get Toy Farmer. And I'm hearing that there's an article in the July issue on the Starkville show.

Sorry I didn't answer sooner. We're in Iowa at the moment. I meant to dig out my July Toy Farmer to look for the article about the Starkville show. Remind me of it in a couple weeks when I get home.

Toy Tractor Times is no longer in print form.

My dad wanted me to go to Mississippi State...not sure why except it was a long way from Indiana...maybe he thought I'd not find my way back home...LOL.

Best regards,

Stan
