I just got married, and my husband is a big pedal tractor collector. I must admit, I had never even seen one until I met him. I would like to learn everything possible about them and surprise him the next time we talk about them. Please let me know of any information (books, articles, websites, etc) that can help me.

Thank you so very much,
Ronda

Ronda, I wonder if you or your husband can help me, or point me in the correct direction. In 1972 my grandmother gave me a John Deer peddle tractor for my 1st birthday, She had always said that it was rare and their were less than 100 ever produced. I think it was made by the Ertle Co. in Iowa, I did stop by their company in the earyl 90's and asked them what they could tell me about it. All of their literature confirmed that it had been produced but how many, or for how long didn't exist. Their books just had a dash (-)The person at the company said to hang on to it because it did seemed pretty rare. The model says LG for lawn and garden. It is 100% metal, green with a yellow seat and wheels and a wide front end, the tires are a solid rubber. and it is in MINT condition, because it was too heavy to ever peddle. If you know of who or how I might be able to get more info. please contact me at www.rodbino@hotmail.com

Thank You for your time,

Rod Hill
Littleton Co.

Rhonda...Go to Lycos.com and search for "pedal tractors" (with an "s" on "tractors"). But be sure you have your coffee cup full and bring a snack, because there are dozens of sites that deal with pedaltractors, collecting, refurbishing, sales, etc. Another place to look is search for "pedal tractor" (w/o the "s") on e-bay. But I wouldn't do any bidding there unless you knew EXACTLY what you were looking at, and what you wanted, because, like antique cars, pedal tractors can sell for anywhere from $100 to $10,000 (alot of what I see on e-bay is actually going for more that what it's actually worth). Have fun, it's quite a hobby (and doesn't take up near the shop space that the full size tractors require!) Gadget

Thank you so much. I will definately go to Lycos.com, and the snack sounds like a great idea.

Thanks Again,
Ronda
