I have the best tractor around the country with only one small problem. It does not have power steering.. Does anyone know of a power steering kit that can be put on or where one can be purchased. I've replaced everything on the front end but it still streers hard. thanks for your help.

I have a brand new power steering kit for your tractor that includes everything-pump, hoses, cylinders, arms, etc. I'm asking $850. If you are interested please contactme by email at tlittlef@rochester.rr.com - Tom Littlefield

I had the same problem and searched for two years. I was never able to find an "aftermarket" power steering kit. I even considered building something along the lines of a power-assist hooked to the tie rods, but gave up that idea also. Finally, I was fortunate enough to find a power steering box (complete assembly) at Wengers in Pennsylvania. They part out old tractors. Anyway, by the time I bought the used gear box assembly, a new pump and the correct hoses I had about $1,300 in it plus installation. As you've probably found out by now, these things are hard to find because they didn't make a lot of them. Back then, farmers were "tough" and didn't need "power steering". I know one guy who bought an old tractor just to get the p/s then sold it after making the swap. Enough rambling, my point is you're in for a hard and expensive search, but if you succeed, you'll have absolutely the slickest operating machine ever put ahead of a plow. I love mine and don't regret a moment or penny put into it.

Mine steers O.K./ not great, but I plan on rebuilding the steering gear this summer, have you been in the steering box yet?
