My 175 does not have enough remote aux.power to lift operate the cylinder on the disc harrow. the hyd. oil is black, would changing oil help it work or is the aux. filter plugged. the multipower is working fine.

Most likely your auxiliary pump is bad.the auxiliary hydraulic and Multi-Power pump is a two-stage pump. It has two sets of gears the front part is for the Multi-Power the back part is the auxiliary hydraulics. It is not uncommon for the remote part of the pump to go bad and the Multi-Power to still work if I can be of further help Email me

can the pump be rebuilt or is it better just to replace it with a new one? Which is the best way to go?

Most of the time the steel gears eat up the aluminum pump body I have never had much luck trying to rebuild them These pumps are pretty expensive About $400 the last time I looked.
