I hve two 1940 MH 101 Jrs and they both have the early style, el-cheapo mesh type grilles. One I made myself from pictures and the other had been decently repaired by a previous owner. One of the six wire mesh panels was supposed to be removeable so that you could service the oil bath air filter (which was mounted inside the grilles on these early models). If I look at the tractor from the front, which of the wire panels is supposed to be removeable, center left, center right, lower left, or lower right? Any one of them would probably work but I'm going to cut one out and make a removeable panel so I want to be correct. Thanks for your help.

Mike,

Nice 101 Jr. I couldn't get to my sisters today, so we are at Tony's mom's. I will e-mail you with our address from my sisters later. From looking at our tractor Tony said that his grille is original and his '41 has no access panel. Our tractor still has the factory rivets and factory screen intact. We will attempt to e-mail you a picture of our tractor or we can send you one instead if that would be better. Do you have a picture of the exhaust manifold? The exit hole in the hood of our 101 doesn't line up with the exhaust manifold. Have you had any luck getting a manual? Evidently, a 101 Jr RC with steel wheels is rare here also. We can't even find a picture so that we can prefab front wheels. Since Tony is a welder he can build just about anything. All he needs is a picture. We'll go to my sisters around 9:30.

Mike, I'm going up to my friend Orland's on Thursday and we are going on a wrecking yard tour. I'll look at his 101's and if I can get a picture for you or some info I'll get back to you that evening. I want to look at the decals on the front of his 101 for another fellow and I'm sure they say "twin power"....talk to you then. Mike
