John Farnsworth,s book, "The Massey Legacy" vol II shows a different set of Serial Numbers from the US Tractors for the Coventry Models. I originally thought my Coventry Built 35 was a 1963 but using the proper list it is actually a 1961. The list on this sight is for US models.

The FE 35 ("F"erguson "E"ngland) was the British-built verson of the Ferguson TO-35 ("T"ractor "O"verseas) built in Detroit. They were almost identical mechanically. The hood/grill were a bit different and some used different engines. After the merger of Massey Harris and Harry Ferguson, they eventually produced just one version, the MF 35, sold both in Europe and in the US. Hope this helps.

I believe that this was the ferguson 35 just before massey harris and ferguson merged. I remember reading about this in a book somewhere.

Thanks for the response, however, the only problem is, the tin on my tractor has "Massey Ferguson" on both sides, and the serial number indicates that it was manufactured in 1964. C. T.

I believe 1964 would indicate a MF.

The FE35 was built in the UK (Coventry) ending in 1964. I have one with Perkins diesel and two stage clutch built in 1964.

I am new to forums so am not too sure of the proper protocol, however, thanks to everyone that responded. Note to Bob, the serial plate on mine does say manufactured in Coventry England, as you indicated. Again, Thanks, C. T.
