Anyone know where I can get a service manual for a '79 TLB? Dealer said to old for reprints.

How hard is it to replace backhoe control spool seals? Mine leak like seives, got new ones but not sure of any "PRECAUTIONS"

Thanks,

Great information Dean. I checked with Pelican Tractor in Klamath Falls Oregon, and they have a person who researches serial numbers. My serial is 9A156023 which turned out to be a 1973 MF40. Any and all information is appreciated. Finding information on industrial Massey Fergusons is difficult.

I notice you don't list either MF50B or MF50D, the two most common "older" 50s that I've seen for sale in the UK. Are these similar to any of the models you list, or maybe these variants were never offered in the US?

Also - are the AD-x.xxx (rather than A-x.xxx) Perkins engines direct injection. Or is it more complex than that.

Thanks again.

AS far as I know we never had a 50B in the US. The 50D & 50E are later Models & I have not got them on the web site as of yet there is also a 30E, 40E some Forklifts & Crawler (Dozers) that have to be added.. The A engines were the old regular Injection. The AD engines were the direct injection. I am still doing research on these and checking the accuracy on what I already have on the web site.

Dean With great excitment I visited your new web site. I have not been able to find out what year my MF20 TLB was manufactured. When I check your serial # list I was disappointed to find that there was none even close to the serial on my id plate. My serial # is 9A 110948. I have checked with the massey dealer, they refered me to someone back east who refered me to AGCO in Canada who said "sorry". That is where I am. Any ideas? Thanks for your help. You have done a great job keeping us all informed on our old Masseys.

Big Dean,

Good Job! I found the web page very informative.

As I was looking at the various models, the Perkins AD4-203 information interested me because I have the MF-50 that you helped me so much with last year.

I noticed that the HP range varied a lot for the AD4-203. Were these mostly injector and pump changes? When I bought my rebuild kit, I didn't see that many options so it must not be compression ratio changes.

Just wondering.

Ken I am not at all sure on the accuracy of the HP on some of these. This is the information a friend sent me. I don't know where he got it from but some of them don't seem right with what I remember. I am going up to the dealership in the next week or so and check the service Manuals on the ones I am in doubt on.
