My MF 35 diesel has the oil filter in the cannister (non-screw on). I replaced the filter recently and I wanted to know if there is a way to tell if I got it all together correctly. I replaced it exactly how it came out and there are no leaks. I am just not sure that the previous owner would have known any more than I do!

Thanks

Hi, Just replaced the one on my 135 with the new type, cost about $30 dollars. Mine was missing parts and they say you can't get them any more. I didn't realize it was missing parts untill I bought a 165 and saw what should be there. When they are together right there is a clip that holds everything together so you can't lose parts or put it back together wrong. Bill

Bob,over the years as people change oil, parts
within the cannister fall into oil drain pans and
get pitched with the used oil.My 65 was missing
parts(also my 2085)all I did was install washers
and o rings so the oil flow actually goes through
the filter element instead of shooting straight
through the center hole of the filter!!!
