I need to know if the inner and outer axle seals are the same part number.
Thanks

They are different seals. There are 3 seals. Way at the inner end of the trumpet "832954m1 oil seal w/retainer"; outer end of the trumpet "881991m1 oil seal 2-5/8 x 3-1/2 x 1/2" and in the drive cover on very end of axle "966238m1 oil seal 2-5/8 x 3-3/4 x 33/64". If you the drive cover w/heavy bearings (192158m91 stamped on side of cover) use "832931m1 oil seal 2-5/8 x 3-3/4 x 9/16". Hope this helps you out!

The casting number on the differential cover is 184192MI. The casing on the old seal is approx 13/16" deep (.081") and presses into the diff. cover. Since I'm doing one side at a time, and this is the left side, is the right side the same part? I'm guessin' it leaks too, and since I'll have it apart to put in brakes... I know the bearing is ok, I have the carrier out and the race looks good.

part # 184192m1 is the differential carrier and the seal needed there is 832954m1 (oil seal w/retainer) but is does not give me dimmension. It does say that 2 are required so I assume 1 for each side.

The one/ones I need to replace are in the trumpet. Looked like a double lip, but had a casing like it was one big seal, National number 7790-HAO. Big sucker. Looks like number 40 on the exploded parts diagram.
I'll check the casting number on the trumpet later on. Thanks.
