Well, I've been thoroughly convinced that I should stay away from Super 90's. So, that's settled. Now! I've had a Massey 65 on LPG and loved it. That's why I started looking for another. I've run across diesels but no LPG. I am being told by some that diesel's will last longer even than LPG setup's, as it has lubrication in it from the top side. Sounds right, but other's say it is not so. Diesel carbons up real bad. Then I'm told that it cost's more to maintain and repair diesel's. Is that true? A lot or a little? I'm getting perplexed. I am also being told to look more slowly and find a 165 or later model. I don't know. I just really loved my Massey 65 and want to make the right choice. HELP!!!!! !!

Hello Bob -

The Perkins Diesels (A4-212 in the 65 and AD4 in later 65 and 165) are probably the cheapest of their hp to overhaul. Long lasting, fuel-efficient, low maintenance....

Same satisfaction you've had from your LPG.

Most parts are available off-the-shelf for both, although you may have to settle for used tin. Multi power has given problems; some disable it rather than overhaul.

My .03 (Canadian - thats .02 US!)

My 65 Diesel went 14,000 hrs on the original engine. Also, consider the price of fuel for all three. Many 65 parts have been discontinued by Massey. I think the 100 series have most all parts still available. David
