Should the fuel pump pump any air. I have disconnected the supply side and submerged it in fuel and keep getting air bubbles coming thru the pump. This is the 2nd brand new pump i have been having promblems with. seems to work good enough to get her running after bleeding, but if she sits for more than a few days, she needs to be bleed again and the 2nd stage filter is full of air. All ready bought 2 fuel pumps and the supplier won't return or refund the 1st defective one. anyone else had promblems with new fuel pumps who is the best supplier?

Have you checked the injectors? If you are getting air from the transfer pump, it would be on the inlet side of the pump. When fuel leaves the transfer pump, fuel will be under a small amount of pressure. Air cannot enter the fuel system after leaving the transfer pump because of the pressue. You will have a fuel leak if there is a problem after fuel leaves the transfer pump. If you have a bad injector, the defected injector will allow air to enter the fuel system on compression stroke. This will cause air bubbles in the fuel system, it will push all the fuel from the second filter, ( secondary filter ), and fill that filter with air. The pressure from the compression will damage the fuel transfer pump.
Good luck !! Ralph
