Does anybody know if the Canadian Military
purchased from M-H in or around '48? We have a 30
wheatland std that came down out of Canada. The
motor and many other parts are green and upon
inspection, the red that's there is a second
paint layer. The green reminds me more of "Olive
Drab" than anything else. It originally had a cab
on it (has been cut off) and there is a large
bracket under it just behind the oil pan.
Something large was hung under there. For all the
world, it reminds me of the I-244 setup I once saw
except it has no hydraulics. Very confused but
that doesn't keep me from guessing.

Thanks - ALAN

Thanks guys! When we re-do it we're just gonna
paint it green and take the flack. I'll have to
look hard for a cab... If we put one back on.

I have a MH No 16 Pacer with a belly mounted No 41 Highway Grass mower.Base colour is red with Yellow ontop, with pastel green ontop of that.I do know this tractor was owned by Ontario department of highways and I believe these were the colours used by Department of highways, and Ministry of Transport of Ontario (MTO). I hope this helps.

The canadian air force used them during the
war and was one of harris's biggest customers.
I have a 30 standard model as well, but not military. One consolation for you, at least you know
it got good maintenance. On the point of color, if you go back prior
to the 40's, a friend of mine said the MH machinery was originally green. But can't verify that.

Sure they did. Aircraft tugs,or anything else they needed a tractor for, same as you.
