I have a MF40 Industrial Tractor (in Australia)with MF BH and FEL.
It has an ID plate on the dash RHS of steering wheel. It says " MF40 841108 C "
I need to find out what year the tractor was made.

Thanks in advance.

Hi Branko
I posted a similar question a couple of days ago about a MF-50 B.H./Loader. I have not had much success so far. If i come across any Australian imformation I will let you know. Next time I get up to Melbourne I hope to look up some dealers to see if they have any history on these machines.
Best of luck!!!!! !!!!! !!!!! !!!!! !!!!! !!! Marty

Dear Sir
Inpartrac Industries Sdn Bhd is a company set up in Malaysia and our main business is dealing with JCB parts and servicing backhoe loader. We are covering through out the whole Malaysia with two branches and eighteen dealers.

At this moment we encounter some problems with our customers who owned some MF Backhoe because we can not obtain the relavent spare parts. We would like to check with you whether you have any authorize dealer in Malaysia or Singapre as we found out that your dealer in Malaysia has already closed down. We understand that you have approximately about 30-50 units of MF backhoe running in Malaysia market and most of the customers are unable to get the spare parts.

We have a list of spart parts need to be made available urgently for our customer, please let us know if we can import the parts directly from your side.

Yours sincerely
CHENG KWONG SIN (MR)
Director

Thanks Marty, for your rely.
I have since spoken to a MF tractor person, and he advised I look for the engine serial number.
I found it on the RHS of the engine, and on the RHS side of the diesel pump. The engine serial number ends with a letter. And guess what?. for this type of engine (AD3.152), the letter A is for 1970, B=1971, C=1972, D=1973 (thats mine!), E=1974, etc, until 1984. (PS no letter I is used)
Last year of manufacture was 1984.

Thanks again.

I have recently bought a mf40
Replaced the steering rams, steering pump.
Having a lot of trouble with oil getting too hot while circulating through the steering control valve in nuetral {straight}.
For the life of me I cannot find out why the oil is restricting.
Does anyone have any clues?
