I was looking at some tractor photos on this site and now I'm not sure if mine is a 135 or a 2135. The photo of the 2135 stated that it is like the 135 except that it is yellow and has a foot throttle, differential lock, etc, all of which mine has. Does this make mine a 2135 or were there 135's that had these features and color ?

Look at the serial number plate. My brother owns a 135, but if you look closely at the serial number plate, the plate indicates that the tractor is a 2135 turf. The tractor is the same as the 135 except the serial number plate reads 2135 turf. I own a 135 Orchard Model and a local Massey dealer tells me the tractor is a 2135. The orchard model was offered in red/gray or yellow. The 2135 was offered in red/gray,which is the color of my brothers 2135, or yellow. The orchard model had a 165MF differential, was equiped with 16.1" rear tires and 10" front tires. The tractor has a non-adjustable tube type from axle, the steering is different. The regular 135 had the steering cylinder built into the steering case where as the orchard model had steering cylinders, one position at each front wheel. The orchard model had 38" lift arms versus 34" on the regular 135. Massey installed a larger diameter ram in the hydralic system to increase the lift capacity because of the longer lift arms. If you look closely at the 200 series tractors that followed the 100 series (135,150,165)you will notice the features of the orchard 135 carried over to the 200 series. I have been told that the orchard model was a pro-type tractor for the 200 series. When I buy parts I compare the parts closely. We had a MF165 low profile at the orchard several years ago, purchaed new, and several people called it a 3165. I often wonder who knows which is which. If the hood decals said 135, I call it a 135 until the tractor tells me different. Good luck!!!

The power steering of the 2135 is more powerful than the one on the 135.
If my memory is still good, the 2135 engine has a higher compression ratio than the 135 and the pto HP is rated at 42 HP instead of 38 HP.
