I am thinking about buying a yellow MF-702 (as it says on the plate) with a MF-710 backhoe. it has a perkins 4cyl diesel (i was told a model 203) & I cannot read the serial number on the tractor. Can anyone guesstimate its Year.

thanks

I realise that your message is old, but thought you may be interested. I have had a 702 for many years here in Scotland, UK. The British version is fitted with a Standards Motor Company 23C diesel engine and Ki-gas starting. The 702 is pretty rare and my example was made in 1960. I have the optional hydraulic brakes (four shoes per drum) & power steering, wheel weights, etc. I have the handbook & instruction manual if you are ever stuck for information. My machine is semi-retired as part of my vintage vehicle collection but still works on small jobs like snow-ploughing, which it does very well. An excellent design indeed.

Kind regards

Duncan Leece.

Thanks - your page on the 702 is excellent. The unit Im looking at apparently has a broken pin in the steering going into the steering box as the owner has had it repaired once before. the hydraulics are great & the engine has only done 100hrs since it was rebuilt. A well named unit - Work Bull.

thanks again Pudding
