I just pulled the engine from my 44 G. It has H260 stamped on the crank and on the right side of the block. All the sleeve kits I have located call out a 3 7/8 sleeve. But mine is 4 inches inside diameter. I am beginning to wonder exactly which tractor I have.

It has no identiplate. The guy who sold it to me said it was a 44.

Can anyone help with locating the correct sleeves and possibly tell me how I might identify this tractor for sure.

All help appreciated.

The model of the tractor should be stamped on the top of the rearend up under the PTO on/off lever. The model number is on top and right under it is the tractor serial number.
Example

44GR
57443

Steve, Either the factory or more likely a previous owner bored this block to the 277 cu in. The stroke on both motors is the same. I ASSUME the crank is as well. (anyone know for sure?) Try looking for kits for 44 specials and 444's. Good luck - ALAN

The engine you have has been bored and pistons from a 277 used as Steve said. Crank is the same.
