It might be easier to draw this on paper..
Diesel
Charging circuit
Run one wire from the dynamo big connector to the D or Gen connector on the regulator then run one from the F or field connector back to the small dynamo connctor. The regulator Earth goes to a good earth point on the casting nearby. The A or Battery connector goes to the ammeter then from the second ammeter terminal to the main battery lead where it meets the solenoid (This charges the Battery)
Ignition circuit
Run a 2nd wire from the ammeter battery conn. to the key switch to provide power for the ignition switch, then another wire from the switch to the solenoid on the starter motor (Check it works on the correct key position) then run another wire from the key swich to the heater plug.
Lighting
Take the power from ammeter battery connector or from the key switch to the light switch then on to the appropriate lights

The solenoid and dynamo are all earthed through the body hence no wires the lights tend to do the same where possible. check you have the right terminals on the switch by sparking the connectors or using a test lamp in the correct switch position. Petrol engines will use another wire from first key position on the switch to the coil then from the second coil connector Neg if Neg earth to the distributor low tension connector Put inline fuses into the circuit as you see fit, particularly to the lights power lead.
