I am looking at a 1979 M-F 2675 to buy from a dealer. The fellow that traded it to the dealer had problems with the powershift (3 spd) and that was gone through ($9700) a few years ago. He reports that it was again getting "hard to shift" and so traded up. The dealer is sprucing it up for sale now. Any thoughts on this year/model powershift? Trouble-prone? I know that any powershift is expensive to repair. I am not very familiar with M-F tractors in general. Would appreciate any comments.

Thanks;

The 2675 is a good tractor, but the powershift is the weak point. If it goes bad it can be replaced with a straight shaft that will eliminate the powershift. It will just be a straight 8 speed.

I have a problem with the 24 speed transmission on my MF 2675 and would like to replace it with a straight shaft. What all is involved in this change out? How expensive?

Thaks for your help.
