MF50 Brake Pedal Lock Oddity

I have a 1962 MF50 that was origionally purchased by my Dad. I am starting a restoration project on the machine. All sheet metal is in excellent condition and no rust. I think the tractor will "cleanup" really nice. The tractor has a major overhaul just completed. The one odd feature about the thing is that the brake pedals cannot be locked together, only the left pedal has a racheting lock. The thing has not been tampered with and looks as if it is a factory oversight. Maybe a later production run of this model. I cannot find another Massey of this vintage to compare. The local dealer has no idea, but thinks it is an odd configuration. Info on this problem or a possible fix would be helpful.

My father purchaed a new MF35 Diesel Deluxe in Nov. 1961. The brakes on it could not be locked together until the dealer drilled the outside pedal and installed a pin. Five years later, Dad purchased another tractor from the same dealer, a MF135, and when the tractor was delivered, the mechanic who delivered the MF135 noticed the MF35. He remembered removing the original petal and installing it on another tractor. He told us that some of the pedals were not drilled, cannot remember the reason. Best to drill you a hole for the pin. Received comment from Dean @ Big Dean's Tractor Tips. He is a 27 yr Massey mechanic never seen brake pedals without, at least the holes drilled for a locking pin.
This one does not even have the holes drilled!
