If you have an MF-35 with the Perkins diesel, you will have a primary and secondary fuel filter before the fuel injection pump. They were both canister styles, but AGCO offers spin on units as replacements, all use steel lines.

CHIP, I JUST BOUGHT A MASSEY 35 DELUX AND I'M LOOKING FOR INFO ON ANY RESTORATION PROJECTS YOU KNOW OF. MINE IS IN VERY GOOD MECHANICAL AN BODY SHAPE. I REALLY WANT TO KNOW ABOUT RE-PAINTING IT THE CORRECT COLORS (RED/GRAY) AND RECOMMENDED RE-PAINTING STEPS (I.E. SAND BLASTING ETC...). YOU SOUND LIKE YOU KNOW A THING OR TWO ABOUT THE MASSEY'S SO I THOUGHT YOU COULD LEND SOME ADVICE. THANKS. DAN

I have a Massey Furguson FE35. It has a glass sediment bowl with shut off valve at the tank plus two addition paper filters in canisters before the fuel injection pump. They are all connected with steel lines and appear to be original equipment. A local tractor dealer told me there is usually only one fuel filter on these models so I am not sure which is standard. I could get you some numbers off these filters if that is what you have.

If you have a perkins diesel the setups varied. There were always two filters primary and 2ndary. Mid 1962 (US) the 2ndry filter which was paper in permanent cannister type was changed to disposable cannister. The important thing is a dealer can make up a modern 2 filter system than is easy to service for you. The bolt holes on the battery box may not line up for the rear filter but another hole can be easily be drilled. Good luck and don't sweat the details on this one.
