Massey harris pony 12 volt starter

my pony has been converted over to 12 volt(previous owner) and the starter he used,a ford i think,doesnt fit properly.the teeth doesnt engage right and will eventually ruin my flywheel.does annyone know what starter i should use? this is a continental gas engine,a 1948 i think. any information would be appreciated.

The orginal starter was a autolite series GBM along with the generator and distributor. I have a Pony tractor with all orginal equip. and owner's manual's. This was a complete electrical six volt setup by autolite for massey harris.

the grill is the same, the hood is not. the 44 had a larger fuel tank and a shorter hood. the hood from a 44D is the same length as the 33, but has the extra battery door. the hood from a 30 is the same length as a 33(I THINK), but the grill is shorter in height.(6 bar grill vs. 7)
