I am wondering if the model 101 and 102 hoods are interchangable? My hood says 101 but my serial # suggests 102. So I am not sure.

they would be close but that reminds me of an unanswered question on this tractor, at the exhaust and intake hole there was a patch from the underside then new holes were cut next to them, i left them there when i painted it instead of filling them because they looked so factory, very nice and square and curved perfectly then spot welded in very cleanly, i dont know what it is.

I have read that the early 101 Seniors were meant to be 101 supers with chrysler engines, but due to war restrictions in 1942 they could no longer aquire chrysler engines. So, they put in continental engines and plugged up the original holes in the hood and put in new ones to suit the exhaust and intake hole locations of the continental. This sounds like what you found on your tractor.

There are a number of different ways to advertise on the discussion forums and you've found another one. The webmaster asks that ads show up in the classified section. Can you imagine how plugged up the forums would be with 1400 ads posted? Just a friendly reminder.

that was by no means an ad to get rid of the tractor, i just wanted a price range, if someone wants to buy a tractor and posts about the price its ok so whats the difference, its not like i put my phone number and pictures.

Call it whatever you want but I'd still say it's an ad. If you just posted about a price on a certain model tractor, that's a price inquiry - but you mentioning that you've got one in nice condition and leaving your email link, well then I say it's an ad. Sort of like the government raising the fee for licence plates or some other service and then trying to say it's not a tax ... in my dictionary it's still a tax.

you had better take another look bud because guess what, I did not post my email like you said. i stated that the tractor was in nice condidtion to try and get an accurate price quote, this is supposed to be a friendly Q/A forum about what we all like, tractors, more accuratly Massey Harris tractors, not someone chewing someone out about how they interpreted a question. maybe you could find a willing english teacher to help you decifer whether that was a question or an ad. i would like answers not harrassment, so maybe instead of taking this dumb crap, i will just go visit one of the many other forums on the web to get my answer, and just re read the original message again, you will find no contact names, phone numbers, email link, addresses or any other communication to find me if someone were interested in the tractor, if i wanted to sell it i most certainly would have gone elsewhere and put my name, phone, number, etc. God Bless

I agree with you Cd, if you were just trying to get a value of your tractor. Describing the tractor helps to estimate the value of it. By telling the shape of it you are in my opinion just trying to get a more accurate price of it. You proably just wanted know what your tractor might be worth, and did'nt want to sell your tractor at all.
