Hi, I am very new to the tractor world. I have 165 with a AD4 203 engine in it. I have to remove the diesel injection pump to be rebuilt. I was wondering if there was a certain way this must be done. I am going to put it at tdc and try to figure it out. The manual for it gets very scetchy on this particular operation. Any advice you guys could offer would be very much appreciated. Thanx in advance

HELLO JEREMY TO REMOVE THE INJECTION PUMP FIRST REMOVE THE COVER ON THE FRONT OF THE ENGINE WERE YOU PUT OIL IN IT HAS SIX 1/4" BOLT.THEN REMOVE THE THREE 5/16" BOLTS THAT HOLD THE GEAR TO THE FRONT OF THE PUMP.REMOVE ALL LINES FROM THE PUMP AND THEN REMOVE THE THREE 5/16" NUT ON THE PUMP FLANG AND REMOVE PUMP.THE PUMP SHAFT HAS A NOTCH IN IT SO IT WILL ONLY GO IN TO THE GEAR IN ONE SPOT.WHEN YOU REINSTALL PUMP YOU CAN CHECK TIMEING BY REMOVING SMALL COVER ON SIDE OF PUMP.YOUR BOOK SHOULD SHOW THIS IF NOT LET US KNOW. GOOD LUCK LANCE
