Just bought my MF35 diesel recently. It has remote hydraulic controls mounted on the right fender. The hoses to the controls come from a rectangular (long dimension crosswise) fixture (valve?) mounted just under the front edge of the seat. It has a threaded rod sticking out of the left side, hoses connected to street ells, one on either side, and doesn't look like pictures in the manual.

I don't have anything needing remote hydraulics at this time, so want to remove it because the hoses to the rear interfere with the leveling crank, and the whole works leaks a little.

The man I bought it from said that when I disconnect the hoses from the fixture described above, I need to cross connect one of them to the other side - not just plug them - or the hydraulics on the tractor won't work, but he didn't remember exactly how to do that.

Can anybody provide detailed instructions with such a minimal description? Thanks!

Chuck if you have a massey ferguson dealer near by go to them and see if they have a cover for this it is a very common part for a dealer to have lying around as most massey's have this same set-up and when someone wants remote hydraulics installed that cap ends up in the corner of the shop. this is not something that can be easily made because it has oil passages in it and it is sealed by an o-ring on the end of a pipe that sticks up from the hydraulic pump. if you cannot find one email me I think I have an extra one in the shop. Good Luck Willy (WILLYPARKER@HOTMAIL.COM)

Willy...Thanks! We do have a MF dealer nearby. If the suggestions Big Dean sent me don't work out, I'll look into that.

Chuck: I had a similar situation that you describe, except the previous owner saved the original cover plate that mounts over the the hydraulic control.
If you have or can find that plate, it will take less than 30 minutes to convert back to the original and then to the remote again if needed. I'm sorry I don't know the correct technical terms for the cover plate.

Rudi...thanks! Nope, don't have the plate. But, I've been exchanging e-mail from home with Big Dean who has some input. Right now, trying to figure out which configuration I have. Of course, it does look like I could fabricate a plate to close it - 1/4" steel, four holes, gasket - but haven't looked at it hard enough to know if that's a possibility.

MF calls it a transfer plate, just in case you need to ask for one at the dealer.
