Tony,
in the late fifties Massey bought Ferguson tractors & from then on they were called MF. MF started using perkins engines & dropped Standard diesels.
the Fe35 with the Standard diesel was made from 1956-9 [roughly]. it was replaced by the MF35 with the 3 cyl perk diesel.
if u need anymore help, let me know.
Manuel

I have a 1955 4cyl. Standard diesel. I am experiencing problems with oil pressure. When the tractor is cold I have 60-80 lbs. When the tractor heats up it slowly drops to 5 or less lbs.Is this Ok? If not any ideas? I do not want to change main bearings if possible. They are hard to find and a bear to install. Do you know if a perkins 3 cyl. is compatible with the TO35 frame? If so, where would be the best place to start looking for a rebuilt engine? Thanks,

Scott

Tony,

We had a TO35 (or TOE35?) of a similar vintage in the 70's. Our 4 cylinder diesel was made by the Standard Motor Car Co of England. We were able to find engine parts - head gaskets were a frequent need. We traded it off when the head starting cracking between the cylinders or something as I recall. Tough little tractor - ours was not in good shape, but did fine when running.
