I talked to the owner again he said the tractor has hydraulics and some sort of lift cylinder on the back with a lever for some kind of lift, but no 3 point,it has power steering, fresh overhaul with high compression pistons, it has hand and foot clutch, and rear tires are good, front tires are very bad, carb is fine says it runs and starts very good .is priced at $1700 US. thank you all very much for all the replies

What use you plan for the tractor has a lot to do with it being practical. It should be a 277 c.i. motor. The advice about the tires is good, about $300.00 U.S. As always be sure to look close for any motor and gear oil leaks. When I bought mine it had no leaks, ( I thought ) came to find out that it was just low on gear oil. When it was filled it leaked out or every place. I've got about $200.00 just in seals. Is it running? Carb. basic rebuild kits only contain float, needle and gaskets. Throttle shafts and other jets (economizer jet) are no longer avalible. Another $200.00 for complete carb. overhaul. Good luck! Not tryimg to scare you. These old tractors will pull like crazy once you get the bugs worked out. Wouldn't trade my 44 for a truck load of Fords.

I wouldn't get into too much of a frenzy over the "special" or the "wheatland" designation. It's basically a 44 standard front with a little bigger cylinder displacement I think. There are a ton of standard 44's up here and they range from $800 - $3000 Canadian (take 2/3 of that for American dollars) depending on the tractor. The upper priced ones usually have factory hydraulics and maybe even a loader. Watch that the rear rubber is decent, those aren't cheap tires on the back.
