I recently inherited a Harry Ferguson tractor and have been trying to determine exactly what model it is. There is a tag right above the steering column with the Harry Ferguson name . Right under the name it has Ser. NO. TO 15844. There is no model number on the plate. On other components HF is everywhere with different numbers on most parts. Example; HF-3551. This is just one of the many different numbers that appear on the machine. It is gas operated, 4-cylinder, with a 4-speed transmission. I have looked at some of the antique photos and the difference between the TO-20 & the TO-30 is not visible to one who is not familar with these wonderful machines. I will say that this tractor was purchased by my father-in-law about 17yrs ago and it has not missed a beat since. We really have not used the machine hard. Mostly for shredding and digging post holes with the auger. There are a few things that need to be fixed, but most are minor and it needs a good paint job. Need help with the identy so I can get the proper manual and get this little jewel in good shape. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Ben

Hi Ben
You have a 1950 TO20 and it should be fitted with a Continental Z-120 engine, the TO-30 was fitted with a more powerfull Z-129 engine in 1951 after s/n 60000. s/n for 1950 started at 14660 upto 39162 hope this helps

Ben, all TO20s I've ever seen had 19in. frt. wheels and the TO30s had 16in. wheels. Also the TO30 had a piece on the dash where the air came into the air filter. I can't remember the engine size of them though!

Ben, at the top of this forum click on H.Ferguson. there are all the specs, sn's etc there. You probably have a 1951 TO 20. Good luck , ray-s
