I just picked up my first old Massey . Its a Massey 30 that seems fairly complete and in good working condition. I received it free for the labour on a deutz fahr clutch job. Had to get something so I guess I did all right. Anyway since I got it I have'nt been able to stop playing with it. My first question is what is the correct colour for this tractor, its currently a reddish colour but my father in law says it should be more of an orange red. Thanks in advance for your help, I'm sure you'll see many more questions here from myself Bryan

Sounds like you have a Ferguson TO 30 which was made prior to the merger with Massey Harris. The original color of the Old TO 20s and To 30s I belive was Light grey. The trend is to paint them with a grey belly and red hood and fenders to conform with the Modern Massey Ferguson color.

Well, its might be a slightly orangy red, but it's far more red than orange. It's red, not a deep dark red, but definitely red. Here are some paint codes:

Martin Senour Pains, synthol enamel (NAPA)
MH RED, 90G-3743

Sherwin Williams
MH RED - JK4649

Ditzler Paint
MH RED, DQE70364

Dupont Centari Red - 018DH

Dupont Imron Paint - MH RED - 674UM

Hope this helps. Meanwhile, if you have a dealer who has Glidden Machinery Enamel, their Safety Red is pretty close to original MH, maybe just a bit darker but pretty nice.
