Tony, You were told correct. On the tubular adjustable
wide fronts(5,I believe), the box is the same part
number but the shaft worm varies, as some tie rods were forward of the box, others behind. This
reverses the direction. The box is probably missing on the WFE, since these wear parts are near impossible to locate in complete set. If you can not buy the WFE w/out the box, for short
money, why search a year for a pricey shaft worm?
Good luck.

Tony,
Yes, but to know, I would need the casting number
on the support housing, which has the six 5/8"
bolts, securing it to the front of the U-frame.

Anthony,
I don't show that casting # indexed in M-H. Part
#'s one above and one below, but not the support
assemblies. Early: 762142M91 Late: 764151M91.
This would include 44 Tubular adjustable axles
from '49-'54. Also, checked the Specials, no go.
All 44 wides have tie rod spindle arm behind, it's
where they attach to the steering box that counts.
Perhaps that is a 33 part #. With no box, big $$$,
best to pass. Good luck on a complete assembly.
