this might be a long shot ,but does anybody have a part # of the seals on the brake shafts ,and what type of brakes does this tractor have? I just got this one and My brakes worked fine till I put oil in the rearend ,it had only one gallon of oil and five gallons of water in it!but it didn't seem to have hurt anything except the seals leak and now the brakes are wet.I'd like to have the seals before I tear it apart..thanks

I JUST CAN DOWN THIS SAME ROAD WITH THE 44 I REFURBISHED. I THINK THE NUMBERS BRUCE GAVE YOU ARE CORRECT, I SAVED THE BOX FROM THE SEALS SO I'LL CHECK ON THE #'S. THE AXLE SEALS IN MINE NEEDED REPLACED TOO ONCE I GOT THE PROPER AMMOUNT OF GEAR OIL IN IT. LET ME KNOW IF YOU RUN INTO TROUBLE.

Hi Chris-I checked with my local MF dealer about your seals. The seals are the same as a standard 44.The original part number is UOS-22171X.The national seal number is 415960.The brake shoes are of the self-energizing ex-panding shoe type. They adjust the same way as the brakes do on a pick-up truck. When you have your brake assembly's off check for side play on the shaft. If you have to remove end play you do so by removing shims from either side of the shaft.Remove only enough shims to eliminate the end play in the bearings and still allow the master pinions to turn freely. If your tractor has the live pto system it will have double disc brakes. If it has this system there will be a clutch lever on the right hand side of your tractor.
