Just went and looked at a 231s w/loader yesterday but was confused by the 3pt levers which even the dealer couldn't explain convincingly. It seems like you have to use both levers simultaneously to raise or lower the 3 point. Is that right? Another question I have is there was a valve under the seat for the loader, but you couldn't run your 3pt and the loader at the same time, the valve had to be switched from one to the other. Is that normal? I'm used to mowing with a loader tractor where you can raise or lower the loader and mower without turning any valves.

The Valve under the seat is an add on remote setup for tractors that did not come from the factory with remote hydraulics. It uses the three point pump for the remotes & you cannot use both at the same time. You have to either select remotes or 3 point with one of them. They will get you by but a front mounted pump is the way to go with a loader. If you need more information on this Email me.
